Jesse A. Patton

Jesse is founder and President of Associations Marketing Group, Inc., in Des Moines, Iowa. Jesse entered the insurance industry in 1981 following a four-year career as a paramedic. Jesse started his insurance career with Mutual of Omaha Companies, first as an agent and then as an Associate General Agent. Jesse earned Mutual of Omaha’s Career Manager’s Club Award honoring him as one of the top sales managers. In 1988 Jesse founded AMGI, a team specializing in group and individual health insurance.

Jesse is currently serving his seventh term on the Iowa Small Group Reform Committee as Secretary, and assisted a congressional study on the effects of Healthcare Reform in the states. Jesse is a past president of the Des Moines Life Underwriters and the Iowa Association of Health Underwriters (IAHU). Jesse is the top agent for several health insurance companies in the United States, and has earned the NAHU Soaring Golden Eagle Award for outstanding production in health insurance for twenty consecutive years. In January 2005 Jesse appeared with President Bush in Bethesda, MD discussing idea’s on how to make health insurance more affordable in the United States.
Jesse is past Federal Legislation Chair and a current member of the Association of Health Insurance Agents (AHIA). He is a member of the National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors (NAIFA). He is the past Federal Legislation Chair for National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) and past Chairman of their National Political Action Committee (HUPAC). Jesse was past Federal Legislation Chair for Iowa Healthcare Council. He is now serving as Chairman of the Iowa Retail Federation and President of the Iowa Retail Foundation. He is the current President-Elect of the Iowa Association of Health Underwriters (IAHU). He is a consulting member of the Galen Institute and the Heritage Foundation.
Jesse was inducted into the Iowa Insurance Hall of Fame in May of 2005 as its youngest member. Jesse received the Gene Helton award for outstanding service as a life underwriter. Jesse has also received a number of NAHU awards including, National Distinguished Service Award, State Legislative Achievement Award, William Wetzel Excellence in Public Speaking, all for his exemplary service to the health insurance industry. In addition IAHU awarded Jesse their Distinguished Services Award. Jesse has been married to Laura Patton, the Vice President of AMGI, for thirty-five years and they have two sons, Lee (age 27) an insurance agent at AMGI and Allen (age 23) a student at Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo. In 1996 Jesse received a kidney transplant; he now serves as a volunteer speaker for the Iowa Donor Network. After years of service as a paramedic, a health insurance specialist, and a speaker on health insurance legislation, it is obvious Jesse is concerned with other people’s health and well being.
